Volunteer Code
Volunteers are subject to the same code of ethic that govern all members of our staff:
To uphold standards and traditions of the organization at all times
To regard all information as confidential
To be professional and pleasant at all times
To follow the instructions of the person under whom you are working and attitudes should always reflect well upon the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Volunteers of all faiths are welcome to share in this mission of service to those in need. Some common things that we may assist with include rent/mortgage payments, utility bills, motel stays, prescriptions and gas. Our organization spends an average of $8,000 per month in assistance just in Dodge county alone.
Volunteers at the store help to cut overhead costs necessary to operate a thrift store in today’s competitive market. With lower overhead, the St. Vincent de Paul Store is able to provide more financial assistance to the Conference, thus able to help more families every year.
All donated material and money are to be used in the following ways:
To provide donations of clothing, furniture, appliances and other material goods to persons as authorized by conference members.
To offer clothing, household items, furniture and other merchandise at low cost to the general public. Through sales, St. Vincent de Paul is able to meet operating costs and raise money for the Conference.
To provide a channel for donations from persons who want to assist those in need.
To help our environment by recycling.
